Origin Enterprises Picks CFO Coyle As Longtime CEO O'Mahony Steps Down

11th Jun 2020 14:00

(Alliance News) - Origin Enterprises PLC said Thursday Chief Executive Tom O'Mahony is stepping down as chief executive after serving 13 years in the role.

O'Mahony plans to depart before the end of the firm's financial 2020, which ends July 31.

Chief Financial Officer Sean Coyle will become CEO, effective July 1 - with a transition taking place between now and the end of July.

Origin will commence the search for a new CFO and announce an appointment in due course, it said.

Coyle has been CFO since 2018.

He was formerly group finance director and managing director of the supply chain division of UDG Healthcare PLC. Prior to UDG, Coyle was CFO and an executive director at Aer Lingus Group PLC and, before that, held senior management positions at Ryanair Holdings PLC.

Chair Rose Hynes commented: "On behalf of the board I would like to thank Tom for his dedication, commitment and leadership of Origin over the past 13 years. Tom joined the business in 1985 and has made an invaluable contribution during his 35 years with the group. He has been a driving force behind the growth and development of Origin to become an international agri-services business. We wish him well for the future.

"I am very pleased that the group's succession planning is enabling the smooth transition from within the organisation and to have an individual of Sean's calibre to succeed Tom as group CEO."

Shares in Origin Enterprises were 1.9% higher in London on Thursday afternoon at EUR2.70 each.
