Origin Enterprises buys grounds maintenance equipment firm Greentech

5th Mar 2021 10:11

(Alliance News) - Origin Enterprises PLC on Friday announced it has acquired UK landscaping, forestry and grounds maintenance equipment manufacturer and distributor Greentech Ltd, known as Green-tech.

The Irish agri-services provider said Green-tech is expected to offer new potential in the area of environmental land management and bio-diversity enhancement for the group's agri-focused businesses. It did not disclose any financial details regarding the acquisition.

"Green-tech is an excellent strategic fit for Origin and extends our amenity offering in the UK in a segment we expect will grow further in the coming years," said Chief Executive Sean Coyle.

In December, Origin said it had appointed TJ Kelly to take over as group chief financial officer and executive director from January 18.

Kelly, who was CFO and executive director at Irish online booking platform Hostelworld Group PLC until December 2020, succeeded Coyle, who was promoted to chief executive following the departure of former CEO Tom O'Mahony.

Shares in Origin Enterprises were down 1.2% at EUR3.46 in London on Friday.
