OptiBiotix Secures Evaluation Deal With Dairy Firm To Test SweetBiotix

31st May 2018 10:32

LONDON (Alliance News) - OptiBiotix Health PLC on Thursday said it signed an evaluation agreement for its SweetBiotix calorie free sweet fibres.

The life sciences company did not name the partner, but said it is a dairy company with an annual turnover of over USD10.0 billion.

Under the contract, OptiBiotix secured a non-exclusive license to explore the potential for using the SweetBiotix technology to reduce the sugar content in a range of partner's dairy food products.

Back in March, OptiBiotix said it has carried out a total of five successful human taste studies on its SweetBiotix product development programmes. This attracted an interest of corporates with expertise in the manufacture and commercialisation of speciality ingredients.

"We are pleased to announce the signing of this agreement for SweetBiotix with one of the world's largest dairy companies and such a well-known global brand," said Chief Executive Stephen O'Hara.

Shares in OptiBiotix were trading 2.2% higher at 69.00 pence each on Thursday.
