LONDON (Alliance News) - OptiBiotix Health PLC on Tuesday said 100% of customers in its consumer survey for GoFigure weight loss products reported that they had lost weight when consuming the products over a continued period.
OptiBiotix, which develops compounds to tackle obesity, high cholesterol, diabetes and skin care, carried out a survey of 30 customers who buy GoFigure meal replacement shakes and natural snack bars. GoFigure is produced by OptiBiotix's majority-owned subsidiary, the Healthy Weight Loss Co, and contains OptiBiotix's SlimBiome formulation.
OptiBiotix said the results of the survey showed that 100% of customers who used the products over a continued period lost weight, at an average of 1.2kg per week based on an average reduction of 7-9lbs over three weeks.
100% of customers also reported that using GoFigure led them to reduce food intake, typically by eating smaller food portions, while 93% of customers said GoFigure led to reduced snacking and 83% said they felt less hungry when using the product.
"This new approach to weight loss contrasts with many competitor products which lack strong scientific rationale and typically rely on customers' self-control to restrict calories and as a consequence have a high failure rate. These results show that the incorporation of SlimBiome into food products helps customers to manage their weight loss by reducing food intake without food cravings. Hunger-free dieting is now a consumer option and we hope to see a wider range of products containing this unique formulation to support consumer choice," Chief Executive Stephen O'Hara said in a statement.
Shares in OptiBiotix were trading up 0.9% at 74.65 pence on Tuesday morning.
