OptiBiotix Appoints Commercial Director To Explore Partnering Opportunities

18th Feb 2015 09:47

LONDON (Alliance News) - Life sciences company OptiBiotix Health PLC Wednesday said it has appointed Jim Laird as commercial director to the board, a move it thinks will enable it to look at new opportunities for products and partnerships.

According to OptiBiotix, Laird, 45, was the general manager of Quorn, the meat substitute food company owned by FTSE 250 constituent Intermediate Capital Group and private equity firm Exponent following their acquisition of Premier Foods' Marlow Foods in 2011,

"Jim's licensing, partnering, and acquisition experience brings food industry specific commercial and corporate expertise to OptiBiotix," Stephen O'Hara, chief executive, said in a statement.

"This appointment will add capability and capacity and allow us to explore a wider range of product and partnering opportunities to build a successful and sustainable business for shareholders," O'Hara said.

OptiBiotix shares were up 6.3% at 22.72 pence on Wednesday.
