LONDON (Alliance News) - Optare PLC saw its shares hit an 11-month high early Tuesday as it got a GBP7.3 million order for its Solo single-decker buses from Stagecoach Group PLC in the UK.
In a statement, the bus maker said it expects to deliver the Solos with Euro 6 emissions standards by the end of this year, although it didn't say how many. It said the order is in addition to five fully electric vehicles that it will deliver this month.
"We are delighted to be supplying more Optare vehicles to Stagecoach. In line with the Stagecoach greener, smarter, travel strategy these Solos will be the first Euro 6 vehicles Optare have supplied to Stagecoach," Optare Chief Executive Enrico Vassallo said in a statement.
Optare shares were up 87.6% at 0.310 pence early Tuesday, making it the best-performing stock on the AIM All-Share index on the day.
