LONDON (Alliance News) - Opsec Security Group PLC on Wednesday confirmed it has not received a formal takeover offer from Orca Holdings Ltd.
Earlier on Wednesday, Orca released a statement saying it has acquired 30.5 million Opsec shares from Herald Investment Management Ltd for 55.00 pence per share and said it is considering making a cash offer to acquire the rest of the company.
Following the acquisition of Herald, Orca owns an 82% stake in Opsec, which provides anti-counterfeiting technologies and services.
Orca said its offer is at an early stage and it has not yet made a formal approach to acquire Opsec, which the company later confirmed.
Shares in Opsec were up 51% to 49.00 pence on Wednesday.
