LONDON (Alliance News) - OPG Power Ventures PLC on Tuesday said its overall power generation rose by 32% in the first quarter, driven by the start-up of operations at its Chennai IV and Gujarat plants.
Total generation for the company, which operates power generation projects in India, in the first quarter to the end of June was 628 million kilowatts, up 32% on the fourth quarter of its 2015 financial year and primarily due to the first unit at the Gujarat plant coming on line.
The Chennai I, II and III plants recorded a combined average plant load factor of 92% in the quarter, and the Chennai IV plant is continuing to ramp up, OPG said.
OPG said its new transmission line at Gujarat is nearing completion, and the unit is on track to be operational by the end of September.
OPG shares were up 0.3% to 98.80 pence early Tuesday.
