(Alliance News) - Open Orphan PLC on Tuesday said it has entered a new agreement with Empiric Logic in order to finish building out a Health Data platform.
Shares in Open Orphan were up 2.2% at 6.44 pence in London in early afternoon trading.
The platform will be "Europe's first rare disease, advocacy-led genomic database", according to the rare and orphan drug consulting services platform.
Empiric is to "incorporate its propriety, privacy preserving, and artificial intelligence enabled software into Open Orphan's Health Data platform", improving the software's ability to collect and manage data.
This deal is the last stage of completion for the Genomic Health Data platform and is intended to accelerate its launch.
Open Orphan Chief Executive Cathal Friel said: "This is an exciting step towards the completion of our genomic Health Data platform, and we are delighted to have Empiric on board to help us quickly and securely become one of the largest databases of rare disease patients in Europe."
