LONDON (Alliance News) - Oilex Ltd Tuesday said it has completed setting and cementing of a thirteen and three eighths casing as planned at the Cambay-77H well in India ahead of further drilling.
The oil and gas development and production company said the case was set at 590 metres depth, slightly higher than anticipated in order to land the casing in a suitable formation, and that the rig is currently preparing to drill ahead in the hole.
Oilex said the well design plan incorporates key operational and technical information provided from its mistakes at the previous Cambay-76H well, adjacent to the well.
The Cambay-76H horizontal well was suspended prior to testing due to downhole mechanical problems despite gas and condensate flowing to surface during testing.
Oilex said a short lateral section at the Cambay 77-H well, along with fracture stimulation is expected to facilitate its primary goal of the well - to record hydrocarbon flow information at surface during a production test.
The company said it intends to inform the market about progress during drilling operations on a milestone basis moving forward, including as it sets further new casings and completes the fracture stimulation programme.
Oilex shares were up 5.1% to 4.60 pence Tuesday.
