LONDON (Alliance News) - Oilex Ltd Monday said the Cambay Joint Venture has awarded the fracture stimulation programme for Cambay-77H to Schlumberger Ltd.
The oil and gas development and production company said it will be working with Schlumberger on the fracking programme for the Indian site, which will be implemented once a drilling rig has been demobilised from the site.
The company said the well design plan incorporates key operational and technical information provided from its mistakes at the previous Cambay-76H well, adjacent to the well.
The Cambay-76H horizontal well was suspended prior to testing due to downhole mechanical problems despite gas and condensate flowing to surface during testing.
The company said that following the completion of four stages of the fracking, isolation plugs will be removed and the site will be flow tested to complete proof of concept activities at Cambay.
Last week, Oilex announced that it has completed setting and cementing of a thirteen and three eighths casing as planned at the Cambay-77H well in India ahead of further drilling.
Oilex shares were up 5.1% to 4.60 pence Monday.
