Ocean Wilsons Reports Rise In Quarterly Container Volumes

LONDON (Alliance News) - Ocean Wilsons Holdings Ltd on Thursday reported a 5.7% year-on-year rise in total freight container volumes handled for the third quarter of 2018.

Ocean Wilsons is a Bermuda-based investment company that operates as a maritime services company in Brazil through its Wilson Sons Ltd subsidiary.

The company said volumes handled at its Tecon Rio Grande container terminal in the quarter to the end of September remained broadly flat year-on-year at 216,200 twenty-foot equivalent units, while volumes at the Tecon Salvador terminal rose 21% to 96,000 twenty foot equivalent units from 79,100.

Total volumes for the quarter as a result rose year-on-year to 312,300 twenty-foot equivalent units from 295,400.

Shares in Ocean Wilsons Holdings were down 2.3% at 1,021.00 pence in afternoon trade.
