(Alliance News) - Ocean Wilsons Holdings Ltd on Friday said that freight container volumes fell 4.2% year-on-year in the final quarter of 2019.
The Bermuda-based investment company said volumes handled at its Rio Grande container terminal in the fourth quarter to the end of December fell by 6.3% year-on-year to 176,100 twenty-foot equivalent units from 187,900 TEUs the prior year.
This impacted total volumes as they were lower at 264.7 million compared to the 276.4 million recorded the year prior.
For the year as a while, total volumes dropped by 4.2% to 1.03 million TEUs from 1.07 million TEUs the prior year.
Shares in Ocean Wilsons were 1.4% lower at 966.00 pence each on Friday afternoon in London.
