Ocean Wilsons Reports 12% Drop In Quarterly Volumes

(Alliance News) - Ocean Wilsons Holdings Ltd on Thursday said that freight container volumes fell 12% year-on-year in the third-quarter of 2019.

Ocean Wilsons, which operates as a maritime services firm in Brazil via its Wilson Sons Ltd subsidiary, said the total volumes handled at its Tecon Rio Grande and Tecon Salvador container terminals for the three months to September 30 fell to 275,900 twenty-foot equivalent units from 312,300 units.

This figure includes a total of 185,900 twenty-foot equivalent units at Rio Grande and 90,000 units at Salvador, compared to 216,200 and 96,000 units respectively a year before. This equates to a 14.0% drop at Rio Grande and a 6.3% drop in Salvador.

The company's fleet remained unchanged at 23 vessel.

Shares in Ocean Wilsons were down 2.3% at 840.00 pence on Thursday afternoon.
