LONDON (Alliance News) - Bermuda-based maritime services investment company Ocean Wilsons Holdings Ltd Wednesday said total container terminals handled in March increased 28.2% on the same period last year.
At Tecon Rio Grande, container volumes increased 35.5% in March to 66.8 twenty-foot equivalent unit compared with 49.3 twenty-foot equivalent unit in March 2013 and 29.3% in the first quarter 2014 to 173.4 twenty-foot equivalent unit up from 134.0 twenty-foot equivalent unit in the first quarter 2013.
At Tecon Salvador, container volumes rose 12.1% in March to 25.2 twenty-foot equivalent unit from 22.5 twenty-foot equivalent unit in March 2013 and up 13.6% to 70.2 twenty-foot equivalent unit in the first quarter 2014 compared with 61.7 twenty-foot equivalent unit in the first quarter 2013.
Overall, volumes increased to 92.0 twenty-foot equivalent unit last month from 71.8 twenty-foot equivalent unit in March 2013, or 28.2% and up 24.4% to 243.5 twenty-foot equivalent unit in the first quarter compared with 195.8 twenty-foot equivalent unit in the first quarter 2013.
The stock was trading at 1,181.00 pence Wednesday morning, up 28.50 pence or 2.5%.
