LONDON (Alliance News) - Maritime services company Ocean Wilsons Holdings Ltd Monday said its operating unit's container terminals handled 3.8% more volume in the third quarter compared with the same three months in 2013, while towage volumes rose and offshore vessel numbers fell.
In a statement, the company said volumes handled at the Tecon Rio Grande container terminal rose 0.4% on the year in the third quarter, meaning volumes are up 13.4% for the first nine months of 2104, while volumes at Tecon Salvador rose 3.8% in the third quarter and are up 2.6% for the first nine months.
Average deadweights rose 9.0% in its towage business in the third quarter, while number of harbour manoeuvres rose 9.3%. It had 19 offshore vessels in operation at the end of the third quarter, up from 18 a year earlier, including 19 of its own vessels, up from 15.
Ocean Wilsons Holdings shares were up 0.4% at 1,069.0 pence Monday morning.
