Ocean Wilsons Container Terminal Volume Drops 15% On Year In January

LONDON (Alliance News) - Maritime services company Ocean Wilsons Holdings Ltd Tuesday said its operating unit's container terminal handled 15% less volume in January than it did in the same month in 2014, while towage volumes rose and offshore vessel numbers fell.

The company's principal operating subsidiary is Wilson Sons Ltd.

In a statement, the company said volume handled at the Tecon Rio Grande container terminal fell by 16% on the year in January, while volume at Tecon Salvador fell by 13.1%.

Average deadweights rose 3.8% in its towage business in January, while number of harbour manoeuvres rose 8.8%. It had 19 offshore vessels in operation at the end of January, down from 21 a year earlier, including 19 of its own vessels, up from 18.

Ocean Wilson shares were down 2.3% at 955.00 pence Tuesday morning.
