LONDON (Alliance News) - Online grocer Ocado Group plc(OCDO.L), Thursday said its gross sales for 12 weeks to August 11 grew 16.4 percent to 189.2 million pounds, from that of 12 weeks to August 5, 2012. Compared with 12 weeks to August 12, 2012, gross sales grew 18.8 percent, the company said in a statement.
Average orders per week increased 15.3 percent to 138,889, from last year's 120,494. Average order size grew 1 percent to 113.54 pounds, from 112.44 pounds a year earlier.
Tim Steiner, Chief Executive Officer, said: "We are encouraged by the continuing momentum in sales growth, reflecting an increase in both orders and basket size."
