LONDON (Alliance News) - Obtala Resources Ltd Thursday announced positive improvements to fruit operations at its Morogoro farm in the recent months.
The natural resources investment and development company said its washing plant and drying unit at the Morogoro tomato farm in Tanzania is operational with 60 hectares now under drip irrigation, completing its phase II development.
The company added that its 30 hectare development plan for the Morogoro site is planned for the second quarter of 2014.
Obtala said successful drying trials conducted on bananas, pineapples and mangoes have allowed for an increased product range and 20,000 mango tree saplings are being planted.
The company added that it launched a branded range of glass bottled tomato ketchup, chilli and spicy sauces, while sale invoices to date at the Morogoro farm are USD226,250.
Obtala shares were up 2.7% to 6.68 pence Thursday.
