LONDON (Alliance News) - Stockbroker Numis Corp PLC on Thursday said it has acquired an 8.5% stake in crowdfunding platform Crowdcube for an undisclosed amount.
Numis said Crowdcube has raised nearly GBP100 million via its platform since launching in 2011 and said it will work with the platform on providing individual investors and institutions with access to funding deals.
"Numis has a long track record of helping companies access funding for growth and this investment in Crowdcube will put Numis at the centre of the entire investment chain, from initial start-up capital all the way to IPO," said Oliver Hemsley, Numis' chief executive.
Shares in Numis were up 0.8% to 267.25 pence on Thursday.
