Northgate Chair Page Stands Down; Spencer Replaces On Interim Basis

28th Mar 2019 08:17

LONDON (Alliance News) - Commercial vehicle hire firm Northgate PLC said Thursday that Chair Andrew Page has left the firm with immediate effect, after four years in the role.

Page - chair since September 2015 - will be replaced on an interim basis by current Senior Independent Director Bill Spencer. Northgate will begin the process of finding a permanent replacement for Page.

"I would like to express our thanks to Andrew," Spencer said. "He has run the board with immense skill, playing a pivotal role in rebuilding the foundations of Northgate and steering the company through a period of strategic change."

"His significant contributions include strengthening the board, appointing a new executive management team and overseeing the implementation of a revitalised strategy," Spencer added. "Throughout Andrew's tenure the company has benefitted from his wise counsel. The board remains fully supportive of the executive management team and the strategy in place."

Shares in Northgate were 0.5% lower at 368.04 pence on Thursday.
