LONDON (Alliance News) - Northern Petroleum PLC said Thursday that it has appointed Paul Lafferty as chief operating officer.
Lafferty, who has more than 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, will be joining Northern Petroleum later this month, said the company. Lafferty comes from the exploration and production division of E.ON, where he was General Manager of Operations, responsible for global production operations.
Northern Petroleum also said Thursday that Graham Heard will be retiring at the end of 2014. Heard, the company's exploration and technical director, has given notice of his intention to retire from the company and will step down from the board at the end of this calendar year.
"Paul's recruitment has significantly strengthened our production and operations expertise in line with our strategic direction of production led growth," said Chief Executive Keith Bush.
Northern Petroleum's shares were trading 1.74% lower at 19.77 pence per share on Thursday morning.
