North Midland Appoints New Boss After Splitting Chairman, CEO Roles

LONDON (Alliance News) - North Midland Construction PLC on Friday said it has appointed John Homer as it chief executive officer, effective from Wednesday, after reporting earlier this month it would be splitting the role of chairman and chief executive officer.

Chairman Robert Moyle had previously held the positions of both chief executive and chairman, but said earlier this month that the "time is now right to devolve the roles of chairman and chief executive".

Moyle said he would carry on as chairman.

North Midland on Friday said Homer will play an "important role in the future growth and development of the group".

Homer has previously held executive positions at a number of construction groups, including Galliford Try PLC, where was was deputy managing director of the South division, BAM Construct UK, where he served as divisional director, and Morgan Sindall Group PLC, where he was a managing director.

Shares in North Midland were down 1.6% at 135.25 pence on Friday.
