North Atlantic Smaller Net Asset Value Outperforms Benchmark Indexes

LONDON (Alliance News) - North Atlantic Smaller Co Investment Trust PLC Thursday said its net asset value outperformed its benchmark indexes in the first half of 2015.

In the first six months of 2015, the trust's diluted net asset value rose by 11.8% compared to its benchmark Standard & Poor's 500 Composite index which rose by 1.7% and the FTSE Small Cap index, which rose by 6.5%.

The diluted net asset value per share stood at 2,525.0 pence per share at the end of July, compared to 2,259.0 pence at the end of July 2014. The basic net asset value per share stood at 2,568.0 pence at the end of July, a rise of 11.7% from 2,262.0 pence a year earlier.

The trust said its investment in Onyx rose by 17.7% in the period, "significantly outperforming" its benchmark, whilst its investment in MJ Gleeson Group rose 25%.

North Atlantic shares closed down 1.6% to 2,025.0 pence per share on Thursday.
