Nighthawk Provides Update On Colorado Prospects

14th Feb 2014 09:25

LONDON (Alliance News) - Nighthawk Energy PLC Friday provided an update on its 100%-owned and controlled Smoky Hill and Jolly Ranch projects in the Denver-Julesburg Basin, Colorado.

The US focused oil development and production company said its Big Sky 13-11 well at the sites commenced production on February 13, and the company achieved a new monthly record average gross oil production in January of 1,701 barrels per day.

However, the company said production in January was adversely affected by planned treatment to the productive zone in the John Craig 1-2 well and some minor weather related problems.

Nighthawk said to John Craig 1-2 well is currently in production but it is anticipated that the well will require further treatment during this quarter.

The company said completion and evaluation work is currently underway at the Telluride 13-2 and Big Sky 14-11 wells, while drilling at the Big Sky 5-11 well at Arikaree Creek is in its final stages.

Nighthawk said its current drilling programme is to continue in March with the Snowking 13-33 well, three miles from Arikaree Creek.

Nighthawk shares were up 1.1% to 8.85 pence during early trading Friday.
