LONDON (Alliance News) - Nighthawk Energy PLC said Monday it has successfully commenced production at its 100% controlled and operated Smoky Hill and Jolly Ranch projects in Colorado.
The US-focused oil development and production company said that the Big Sky 12-11 and John Craig 1-2 wells commenced production in December and that gross oil production over the last ten days of December averaged 1,753 barrels of oil per day.
The company said that its average gross oil production in December was 1,556 barrels per day and its gross oil production for the full year 2013 equalled 364,968 barrels, a tenfold increase on its full year 2012 figure.
Nighthawk announced in December that its Big Sky 12-11 well at Arikaree Creek successfully tested commercial oil flows from the same Mississippian pay-zone as the currently producing Silverton 16-10 and Snowbird 9-15 wells, while the John Craig 1-2 well also successfully tested commercial oil flows at a number of potential pay-zones in the producing Pennsylvanian age formations.
The company said the Big Sky 14-11 well at Arikaree Creek is currently undergoing completion in the Mississippian formation, and the Telluride 13-2 well is to be completed in the Pennsylvanian formation.
Nighthawk added that its drilling programme continues with the Jackson Hole 1-32 well north-west of Arikaree Creek and the Big Sky 13-11 well at Arikaree Creek.
Nighthawk shares were down 4.7% at 11.20 pence early Monday.
