LONDON (Alliance News) - NextEnergy Solar Fund Ltd Thursday said it has signed a deal to acquire a new solar power plant in Essex and an agreement to extend its current contract at the Bilsham project in Sussex.
The solar investment company said it has signed a share purchase agreement of up to GBP22.9 million to acquire a special purpose investment vehicle that owns the 21.2 megawatts peak Langenhoe solar power plant in Essex.
The plant is currently being constructed, and NextEnergy said the plant was connected to the grid last Wednesday. NextEnergy said it expects to finalise the deal during March, but did not release any further details about the deal.
In addition, the company said it has signed a development services agreement to undertake the second phase of construction at the Bilsham plant in Sussex. Phase one comprised of 12.7 megawatts peak and was connected to the grid in November and the company has now agreed to extend its existing contract to build a further 2.6 megawatts peak to the plant.
NextEnergy shares were untraded on Thursday, last trading at 104.00 pence per share.
