LONDON (Alliance News) - NextEnergy Solar Fund Ltd Thursday said it has signed agreements to acquire two UK solar power plants, further increasing the company's capacity.
NextEnergy has signed a share purchase agreement to acquire the 9.3 megawatt peak Bowerhouse solar plant in Somerset for up to GBP11.1 million, and another share purchase agreement to acquire the 8.5 megawatt peak Wellingborough solar plant, named after its location in Northampton, for up to GBP10.9 million.
Both the plants were connected to the UK power grid toward the end of March and increases the company's total capacity to 234.5 megawatt peak spread between 18 assets. NextEnergy has now spent a total of GBP274 million in acquiring its assets, and said it continues to look for more.
NextEnergy shares were up 0.5% to 107.75 pence per share on Thursday morning.
