NextEnergy Acquires Second Operating Solar Plant For GBP8 Million

9th May 2014 10:52

LONDON (Alliance News) - NextEnergy Solar Fund Ltd Friday said it has acquired its second operating solar power plant, totalling 6.3 megawatt peak, for just short of GBP8.0 million.

The solar farm management group, which only listed on London's main market last month, is using the proceeds from its flotation to buy operational UK photovoltaic solar assets.

NextEnergy said the Shacks Barn solar power plant, which is located in Northamptonshire, was energised in March last year, and it has been generating revenues since its energisation.

The group said that 7% of the acquisition sum has been withheld by the company for up to one year and is payable based on the performance of the plant.

Last week, NextEnergy said it had acquired its first operating solar power plant, totalling 6.1 megawatt peak, for GBP7.1 million.

NextEnergy shares were flat at 101.50 pence Friday morning.
