12th Apr 2016 08:42

LONDON (Alliance News) - Next Fifteen Communications Group PLC Tuesday said it has made a good start to its new financial year, as it reported a rise in pretax profit for its most recently ended financial year and upped its dividend.

Next Fifteen posted a pretax profit of GBP5.6 million for the year to end-January, up from GBP405,000 a year before, as a fall in revenue to GBP129.8 million from GBP158.5 million was offset by lower staff costs, an an impairment of GBP7.0 million related to goodwill in the previous year.

On a "headline" basis, adjusted for amortisation, impairment, restructuring and other non-recurring items, pretax profit rose to GBP16.1 million from GBP12.5 million, as revenue rose to GBP129.8 million from GBP109.2 million.

Next Fifteen said it had seen strong growth in its US businesses, highlighting performances from its M Booth, Beyond US, OutCast, Connections Media and Blueshirt businesses as all having performed well. Outside of the US the company has worked to increase its operating margins, improving efficiencies in a number of its UK businesses.

The digital communications firm proposed a final dividend of 3 pence per share, taking its total dividend for the year to 4.2p, up from 3.5p a year before.

"The 17 different businesses that now make up Next 15 operate in major markets around the globe for many of the world's most important growth companies; they employ teams of people who we believe can rival any of the most progressive marketing organisations in the world. Taken with these results and encouraging current trading, your board has confidence that the current financial year should also be a year of progress for the group," said Chairman Richard Eyre in a statement.

Shares in Next Fifteen were up 4.8% at 252.00 pence Tuesday morning.
