14th Mar 2016 07:47

LONDON (Alliance News) - Retail property investor NewRiver Retail Ltd on Monday said it has secured planning permission for the regeneration of the Martlets Shopping Centre in Burgess Hill in West Sussex.

The GBP65.0 million development proposed by NewRiver will include 200,000 square foot of retail space, plus a 10-screen cinema, 63-bed Travelodge, restaurants, residential units and a library.

Construction will delivered in a phased programme, with the first phase due to start in early 2017.

"We are delighted to have received unanimous support from Mid Sussex's Planning Committee to grant planning permission, marking a major milestone in our GBP65 million development plans for Burgess Hill which will serve as a catalyst for economic and social regeneration in the area," said NewRiver Property Director Allan Lockhart.
