LONDON (Alliance News) - New World Resources PLC said Friday that there has been three fatalities at a mine owned by its Czech mining subsidiary OKD.
In a statement, the hard coal producer said that on three workers died on Thursday, in an underground mine at OKD 1, located in Darkov.
New World Resources expressed its "deepest condolences to the families, relatives and friends of the deceased worker."
In April 2014, the mining company said a 41-year-old worker died at the surface workplace of OKD's Darkov Mine.
New World Resources said members of the District Mining Authority in Ostrava, Darkov Mine management, OKD management, the OKD Trade Unions representatives, and the police of the Czech Republic have formed an investigative committee and are conducting an enquiry into the accident.
