LONDON (Alliance News) - New World Resources PLC Monday said that 7,290 employees from its Czech Republic subsidiary OKD, will be taking part in strikes against its latest management proposals.
The hard coal and coke producer said that the strikes follow a vote by the employees rejecting management's latest proposal for a new collective agreement for the period 2014 to 2018.
It said that the strikes will take place on November 16 from 1200 to 1600 CET, as well as a 1-day strike on November 29 and a 3-day strike from December 4 till 6.
"The management aims to avoid strike through continued negotiations this week, and resolve any persisting issues to ensure a sustainable future for the Company," said OKD Chief Executive Officer Jan Fabian in a statement.
New World Resources' shares last traded at 82.00 pence per share.
