NetScientific's Wanda Launches Healthy Heart App For Women

19th Aug 2016 06:26

LONDON (Alliance News) - Healthcare technology group NetScientific PLC on Friday said its digital health portfolio company Wanda has launched myWanda in the US, a mobile app aimed at encouraging women to improve the health of their hearts.

The app allows women to set specific lifestyle goals known as 'pathways' for exercise, nutrition, sleep, stress management, and hydration. myWanda then delivers daily tips, advice, and inspiration to help women stay on track to achieve these goals, thereby creating measureable improvements to their heart health and overall well-being.

Heart disease is the number one killer of women in the US, but according to Wanda 80% of cases are preventable through education and lifestyle changes.

"The myWanda mobile app now available on the US iTunes App Store will serve to deliver personalised support for developing healthy behaviours and ensure patients are increasingly at the heart of the care process. This is an important milestone for Wanda, and is line with the company's strategy to expand its platform of mobile applications to capture patients earlier in their disease trajectory," NetScientific Chief Executive Francois Martelet said in a statement.
