LONDON (Alliance News) - NetScientific PLC on Tuesday said portfolio company Vortex BioSciences Inc has been granted a patent on its core technology in the US.
The biomedical and healthcare company said Vortex's patent covers its inertial microfluidics technology and the use of this in separating and collecting circulating tumour cells and other cells of interest during cancer treatment.
"This key patent provides strong protection of our novel and powerful new platform technology for cell separation," said NetScientific's Michael Boyce-Jacino, the head of its US operations.
Shares in NetScientific were up 4.5% to 160.00 pence Tuesday morning.
