Netcall Wins New Contract But Profit Dips On Revenue Decline

27th Sep 2016 08:41

LONDON (Alliance News) - Customer engagement software provider Netcall PLC on Tuesday said its pretax profit and revenue dipped in the year to the end of June but said it has won a new contract with an unnamed FTSE 250 company.

Netcall said it has secured a five-year, GBP1.5 million contract covering its business process automation products with an existing customer. Netcall said its Liberty software has been selected by the customer to be used for a transformation project in the client's call centre and customer support infrastructure.

"We are delighted our customer has chosen to extend their engagement with us and look forward to assisting them in executing the next phase of their customer experience strategy," said Henrik Bang, Netcall's chief executive.

The news came as Netcall said pretax profit for the year to June 30 fell to GBP1.7 million from GBP2.4 million a year earlier, hit by investments it made in the business and a reduction in revenue from its MovieLine ticketing service.

Weakness at MovieLine, plus a transition for the group towards recurring, software-as-a-service contract meant revenue for the full year also fell, down to GBP16.6 million from GBP17.2 million. Total annualised recurring revenue increased 9.0%, and Netcall said its order book stood at GBP15.0 million at the end of the financial year, up 22% from GBP12.3 million a year before.

Netcall declared a final dividend of 1.10 pence per share, taking its total payout to 3.00p, a 36% rise year-on-year.

"We have started the current period in a better position than ever and trading in the first few months has been significantly ahead of last year. Netcall is a stronger, more resilient business, with higher levels of revenue visibility and an expanded product offering," CEO Bang said.

"As a profitable, highly cash generative business we will continue to invest in our company to sustain our long-term financial performance. The board is pleased with the development of the business and, with a strong sales pipeline, we believe Netcall is well positioned for the future," he added.

Netcall shares were up 2.4% at 58.38p on Tuesday.
