Nature Group Wins Planning Permission For Waste Oil Reception Site In Gibraltar

11th Apr 2014 06:58

LONDON (Alliance News) - Nature Group PLC said Friday it has won planning permission by the Development & Planning Commission of the Government of Gibraltar for the re-building of its Waste Oil Reception Facility at the North Mole.

The port reception facilities and waste treatment solutions for the oil, marine and process industries said the DPC granted the planning permission Thursday, following extensive discussions

with the government and both an Environmental Impact Assessment and extensive evaluation of the engineered design for the rebuild of the Waste Oil Reception Facility storage tanks.

The rebuild, which is expected to take up to 12 months, will be in compliance with the latest European and local legislation, said Nature Group. The reconstruction of the tanks and facilities will enable the new site to store waste oil products to reduce current logistical challenges attributed to, and dependence on, floating storage only, said the company.

"Through our investment in the new facility we will be able to further improve the services to vessels calling at the Port of Gibraltar. Gibraltar forms an important part of Nature's Maritime division and is an integral part of our strategy to build a worldwide network of port reception facilities," said Andreas Drenthen, CEO of Nature Group.

Shares in Nature Group last traded at 24.5 pence per share.
