LONDON (Alliance News) - Nature Group PLC Wednesday said it has appointed Maarten Smits as chief financial officer with effect from November 16 and will centralise its management in Rotterdam.
Smits has over 20 years' experience in the sector, having started his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1995, before joining KPMG and ING Barings, Nature said. He joins Nature from Royal Dutch Shell PLC, where he served in various positions since 2004, most recently as head of finance of Shell Pension Funds.
Current CFO Kieron Becerra will remain as an adviser on a consultancy basis in order to ensure an orderly transition.
Following Smits' appointment, Nature Group's executive and key management functions will be centralised in its Rotterdam headquarters in the Netherlands.
"The board is very pleased to welcome Maarten to complete the senior executive team in Rotterdam. Maarten has a wealth of international experience, including working in the UK, and is joining Nature at an interesting and exciting time in its development," Chairman Nigel Sandy said in a statement.
Shares in Nature Group were untraded Wednesday morning, last quoted at 10.75 pence.
