LONDON (Alliance News) - National Express Group PLC on Thursday said it has appointed Matthew Ashley as its finance director with immediate effect.
He had been acting as interim finance director of the transport company, following the departure of predecessor Jez Maiden to become the finance director of chemicals company Croda International PLC in October last year.
Ashley joined the company in 2010 from Deloitte as group financial controller and was the finance director for National Express' UK Bus operations until he took up the interim finance director role.
"I am delighted that Matthew is joining the board of National Express as group finance director. He has been appointed following a thorough search process and brings significant financial, corporate and operational experience. I look forward to continuing to work with him," said National Express Chairman John Armitt.
