(Alliance News) - Public transport operator National Express Group PLC said Tuesday it has appointed two independent non-executive directors with effect on October 1.
The first appointment is Ana de Pro Gonalzo, who is currently chief financial officer at Amadeus IT Group SA, a Spanish travel & tourism-focused IT solutions provider.
The second appointment is Karen Geary, whose most recent role was chief human resources officer at FTSE 100-listed enterprise software developer Micro Focus International PLC for two years from 2016 to 2018.
In addition, National Express said Non-Executive Directors Joaquin Ayuso and Jane Kingston will step down from their roles with effect at the end of December.
"I am delighted to welcome both Ana and Karen to the Board. Both are leaders in their respective fields and bring significant international business expertise and experience to the Board, including from the travel and technology sectors. I look forward to working with them both," said Chair John Armitt.
"I would also like to express, on behalf of the board, sincere thanks to Joaquin and Jane for their invaluable contribution to the company over their respective tenures on the board and its committees," Armitt added.
Shares in National Express were up 1.3% at 434.60 pence on Tuesday afternoon.
