Nanoco Signs Quantum Dot Resin Supply Deal With Taiwan's Wah Hong

22nd Jul 2016 10:06

LONDON (Alliance News) - Cadmium-free quantum dots and nanomaterials maker Nanoco Group PLC on Friday said it has signed a supply and licence agreement with Taiwanese optical films manufacturer Wah Hong Industrial Corp for the display sector.

Under the terms of the deal, Nanoco will supply cadmium-free quantum dot resin, made at its plant in Runcorn in the UK. Wah Hong will process this resin and then market it to its existing customers in the display sector.

No financial details were disclosed on the deal, but Nanoco said it will get an upfront payment, payment on the delivery of quantum dot resin, and royalties on Wah Hong's sales of processed resin.

"We're delighted to enter this agreement with Wah Hong Industrial Corp, a major company in the supply of product to display makers across East Asia. This agreement marks our first since the company adopted a non-exclusive strategy in display with the objective of bringing our products to market quickly," said Michael Edelman, Nanoco's chief executive.

Shares in Nanoco were up 4.3% to 67.29 pence Friday.
