LONDON (Alliance News) - Nanoco Group PLC said Friday that unit Nanoco Technologies PLC has entered into a partnership with Plessey Semiconductors Ltd to produce smaller, higher-resolution and more energy efficient microLED displays.
Under the partnership, the companies will aim to shrink the pixel size of monolithic microLED displays using Nanoco's cadmium free quantum dot semiconductor nanoparticle technology.
Plessey will integrate the Nanoco quantum dots into selected regions of blue LED wafers to add red and green light, shrinking the pixel size by 87%.
Nanoco Group manufactures heavy-metal-free quantum dots and semiconductor nanoparticles for use in displays, lighting, solar energy and bio-imaging.
Shares in the company were trading 1.8% higher at 38.70 pence each.
