Mytrah Energy Commissions More Bhesada Turbines, Portfolio In Line

16th Nov 2015 10:02

LONDON (Alliance News) - India-focused power producer Mytrah Energy Ltd on Monday said further turbines have been commissioned at its Bhesada project and said its other projects under construction are on track.

The company said the nine new turbines commissioned at Bhesada will increase its current operational capacity to 35.7 megawatts. This brings the total additional capacity the group has added in 2015 to 50.2 megawatts and will bring its operating wind portfolio up to 578 megawatts.

The group said its other projects currently under construction are progressing in line with its expectations, and the group expects to enter the 2016 wind season in India with 743 megawatts of capacity on its books.

Mytrah said its operating portfolio has performed well on a technical basis in 2015 and it saw an improvement in the second half of the wind season, after the first half had been weaker than anticipated.

"Progress in our construction portfolio continues in line with our expectations," said Ravi Kailas, Mytrah's chairman and chief executive. "While this year's overall wind season has been behind our expectations, our plants are performing well technically and remain fully capable of meeting their commitments. We do expect to see winds return to the historic average, improving future results."

Shares in Mytrah were down 0.8% to 61.00 pence on Monday.
