(Alliance News) - MyHealthChecked PLC on Tuesday said its Concepta Diagnostics Covid-19 testing service has been added to the UK government's approved private testing providers list for general testing and the Test to Release for International Travel scheme introduced on December 15.
The Test to Release scheme enables passengers to pay for a Covid-19 test, through the list of approved private providers, in order to find out if they are able to reduce their self-isolation period after international travel.
Shares in MyHealthChecked were up 19% at 1.72 pence in London on Tuesday.
The Cardiff-based healthcare company and fertility tracking firm, previously known as Concepta PLC, said it has the full Covid-19 testing service offering required to meet the UK Department of Health & Social Care's 15 minimum standards for the Test to Release scheme, and this will go live in January.
The company launched a DNA testing service under the MyHealthChecked brand earlier this month in the wake of Concepta's acquisition of Genome Store Ltd in November, saying it would be a "Covid-19 lab-based PCR test".
Chief Executive Penny McCormick said: "Our Covid-19 testing service launched on December 2 and has gathered momentum through the month. As we are already providing Fit to Fly documentation, our inclusion on the government's official list of Test to Release providers will further enhance the service that we can provide to travellers departing the UK, and flying into the country. We have been confident that our process would meet the government's requirements, and we will be rolling out the enhanced system and service from January."
