LONDON (Alliance News) - Mwana Africa PLC Wednesday said shareholders have approved its proposition to change its name to Asa Resource Group PLC, but they voted against the proposal to appoint KPMG LLP as auditors, leaving the company searching for new auditors.
At the company's annual general meeting held Tuesday, shareholders voted in favour of all the company's resolutions, including the name change, apart from resolution six, which proposed appointing KPMG as the company's auditors.
"As a result, the company will be appointing new auditors for the current financial year," said the company in a statement.
It is expected that trading in the company's shares on AIM under its new name of Asa Resource Group will commence Thursday.
Mwana shares were down 2.7% to 0.900 pence per share on Wednesday.
