(Alliance News) - Mpac Group PLC on Monday said its Mpac Lambert business has signed a contract with FREYR Battery for the supply of cell assembly equipment to a battery cell production line in Norway.
Shares in Mpac were up 8.6% to 537.69 pence each in London on Monday afternoon.
FREYR develops battery cell production capacity. Coventry, England-based Mpac said it has previously worked with battery manufacturer 24M Technologies.
"Mpac will leverage 24M's innovative battery casting technology and in-house expertise and experience in automation and mass production systems to construct and install the equipment," Mpac said.
Chief Executive Tony Steels added: "We are delighted to be a partner to Freyr to support them to achieve their vision and play our part as Mpac automation ecosystems to provide know how, equipment and services to industrialise the battery cell energy storage device production, ensuring the achievement of Freyr's ambitious growth plans for a more sustainable future."
Mpac did not disclose the value of the contract.
