Motive Television Up On Google Chromecast Deal For TabletTV App

19th Jan 2015 08:27

LONDON (Alliance News) - Motive Television PLC shares rose on Monday morning after the company said it is to start integrating Google's Chromecast technology into its TabletTV apps.

The move will mean users of the TabletTV app, which allows viewers to watch over-the-air Freeview channels, record programmes and have red-button services on their tablet or mobile device, can send what they are viewing on their tablet devices directly to a home TV screen.

The function will become available in the next two months, Motive said. It did not provide any financial details on the deal.

"This exciting development is an example of the huge potential of TabletTV to partner with major technology and television platforms to create a better, more flexible, high-value experience for the consumer. This is just the first of our anticipated strategic and product cooperation agreements with industry players that will benefit TabletTV customers," said Motive Chief Executive Officer Leonard Fertig.

Motive shares were up 8.4% to 0.0122 pence on Monday morning, one of the best performers in the AIM All-Share.
