LONDON (Alliance News) - Motive Television PLC said Wednesday that its patent applications for its Tablet TV technology in the US are progressing, and that it had filed a new application in the US this week to allow for wider coverage.
It expects at least three separate applications to be progressed over the next few months, covering inventions relating to the reception device, usability and broadcasting of data incorporated in the technology.
The new application filed this week, in addition to allowing wider coverage, includes enhancements for the use of the broadcasting of data technology.
The patent for Tablet TV is progressing worldwide, Motive said, using a mechanism called the Patent Cooperation Treaty. This international treaty is a unified procedure to allow patents to be filed in countries that are members of the treaty. The next stage of this process will determine which specific countries are covered by the patents.
"While the details of Motive's new inventions must be kept confidential for competitive reasons, it is important for shareholders to be aware that the company continues to develop and extend its ground-breaking technology and protects it through patent filings that will extend worldwide," said Chief Executive Leonard Fertig in a statement.
Shares in Motive Television were trading down 2.4% at 0.0188 pence Wednesday.
