LONDON (Alliance News) - Motive Television PLC said its UK and US Tablet TV projects are set for commercial launch by Christmas this year if the progression with the two products continues in line with management expectations.
Tablet TV is a television service designed specifically for tablet computers.
In the US, Tablet TV is set to be rolled out to the public in San Francisco by this Christmas, with a full roll out expected in 2015. Technical beta testing is underway in the city, allowing users to test the functionality of the system in different parts of the city.
Tablet TV UK was demonstrated at the ICB Trade Show last week, Motive said, and is due to enter beta testing with UK users in early October. It said distribution arrangements are due to be completed in October, along with final testing and approval.
"We are confident, supported by solid research, that Tablet TV will be a popular product for Motive in these two markets and expanding worldwide," said Motive Chief Executive Officer Leonard Fertig.
"There is global interest among broadcasters in our technology and concept and if Tablet TV proves successful in San Francisco and the UK it could be extraordinarily valuable to Motive in years to come," Fertig added.
Motive shares were up 3.9% to 0.0161 pence on Thursday.
