LONDON (Alliance News) - Morgan Advanced Materials PLC Tuesday said it has signed a joint development agreement with the University of Manchester, through which the pair will work on scaling up a process for manufacturing graphene.
Morgan Advanced Materials said the partnership would focus on understanding and optimising the relationship between the manufacturing process and material science of graphene, with the aim of improving the prospects of commercialising the material.
Graphene was discovered by the University of Manchester and the institution is set to open the GBP61 million National Graphene Institute in early 2015.
Morgan Advanced Materials shares were up 2.0% to 321.28 pence on Tuesday, one of the biggest gains on the FTSE 250.
